About Our Kilts
The Kilt is an icon of Scottish culture and heritage, something that should be worn with pride, and also enjoyed.
At ScotClans we sell the finest kilts in the world, truly Scottish made. We do not sell the cheaper ‘fun’ kilts which have their place but feel that we need to work to preserve the traditional art of a kilt maker and the tartan mills here in Scotland.
Handmade from the finest tartan
Our Kilt Maker is fully qualified and highly experienced with extensive skills and understanding of how a really good kilt should look. The kind of details on a kilt that really make the pleats sharp and hang perfectly and swing correctly when you move. Once you’ve seen a wonderfully made kilt all others really do look like imitations and lots are more like a skirt than a true Scottish kilt.
The perfect fit
Our ScotClans team can help you through taking correct measurements. There are certain rules which highlight if anything is measured incorrectly. We have many years experience of making kilts fit perfectly. A kilt will fit all ages, shapes and sizes.
Getting it right
We can also assist you with etiquette if you want to know what to wear with what for what event. Or even if you want to break tradition and do something daring.
Immaculate finish
Finally, for the longest lasting pleats, your kilt will be finished by hand on a Hoffman steam press to keep them sharper longer. The kilt is lined, one or two buckles, belt straps, matching flashes.
