Standard: Upon a standard three and a half meters in length of four tracts Vert and Or, split at the end, having Azure a St Andrews Cross Argent in the hoist, with the motto in letters Sable upon two transverse bands Argent, the badge depicted in the first and third compartments and crest in the centre compartment. Granted: Court of the Lord Lyon, 31 March 2004. The arms are pertinent to the armiger and his family.

It also refers to the Millrinds in the Arms of Lincoln’s Inn. The Crescents and Estoiles are taken from the Arms of the University, and the Crest of the City of Nottingham. The open book echoes those in the Arms of Nottingham and Cambridge Universities. The Millrind in the Crest comes from the Arms of Lincoln’s Inn. Also in the Crest is the Downing College Griffin (holding the Millrind). The Latin motto is Ad Meliorem Legem.
