Hundreds of Piping Santas Advance on Edinburgh

Bagpipe playing Santa Clauses descended on Edinburgh’s Princes Street Gardens over the weekend, to help warm up runners at the city’s annual Santa Run. Hundreds of runners and walkers dressed as Santa took part in the Wish Upon A Star Charity event to raise money for sick and terminally ill children. The Stockbridge Pipe Band of Edinburgh are said to be behind the stunt – we’re pleased to report that no pipes or drum sticks were tangled in beards.

This isn’t the first time a Santa has appeared playing the pipes  – last Christmas in Portland, Oregon a kilted Santa playing the bagpipes and riding a unicycle was spotted on a number of occasions on the city’s streets. Unfortunately there have been no confirmed sightings of the bearded piper this year.
