Caithness
The North East of Scotland is a really interesting place to visit. The landscape is dramatically different to the West Highlands. You have dramatic Cliffs and lonely moorlands to tree lined twisting roads and rivers.
The boggy half of Caithness and Sutherland is known as the Flow Country (from the Old Norse word Floi meaning marshy ground).
If you love History you’ll like this area of Scotland. There are clearance villages, castles like Castle Mey and Old Wick Castle. Also ancient history is more visible in this area with chambered cairns.
