Hi

I am emailing from Australia.
I stumbled on your story looking for a contact in the Erskine clan. My husband had actually told me the story of Lady Grange a few months ago. I have been researching the Erskines this evening, because we bought a painting very reasonably in the States (it seems to have disappeared in transit, which is very upsetting)) a while back, and I saw a very similar painting which is shortly up for auction at Lawrences Of Crewkerne, and although the sitter is slightly older, I believe her to be the same person, Lady Catherine, Anne Erskine, daughter of David Erskine, 9th Earl of Buchan and 4th Lord of Cardross. Lady Grange would be contemporary.
The painting we bought was one of a group of portraits that came from some hotel in Virginia.
I was hoping someone in the Erskine clan might know more, and I also thought the clan would be interested to learn of the painting that is currently up for auction. I know my husband is always on the look out for McLachlan memorabilia!

Would you be able to pass this on please?
Kind Regards,
Vicki
