Comment on The Pharaoh’s daughter and Scotland by Randy

The English also have myths that tie them back to Middle East origins. Hence the old hymn:
“…and did those feet in ancient times
Walk upon England’s mountains green…
…And was Jerusalem builded here
In England green and pleasant land.”
This was a part of claiming legitimacy by pretending origins from the Holy Land and should not be taken seriously except as a cultural curiosity.

Hello,

Can you tell me if Clan Macleod is going to be part of this march during the 2017 Tattoo?
I visited Scotland from Australia last year 2016 and went to Tattoo. I am planning on returning this year as well and would be keen to march with the Clan members if they are involved. Any info would be appreciated.

Regards

Andrew

My family has chased our ancestry to Patrick Co. Virginia to a Richard A Wood. That had four wives and twenty-two children. My grandfather was Jeremiah Gabriel Wood m. Mary Pauline (Polly) Hill. Not certain if the John Wood that sailed to America in 1700′s is an ancestor or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Shari Hurst — Thu, 12 Jan 2017 03:18:38 +0000

Thank you! Very interesting article. Family lore is that an ancestor was part of Queen Victoria’s bodyguard… timeframe 1820~1845. Any idea where I might find Atholl Highlander rosters for that time period?

thanks in advance – shari
